Dismaland!!
Very exciting, very dismal, quite cold. Project however is going slightly off
course, spent a little too long on black and white, so while I’m rather happy
with how that portion of my sketchbook has turned out, I feel the colour
section was rather neglected and I struggled a lot more to produce work I was
actually happy with as I had a lot further to fall than when I was in the
comfortable boundaries of black and white. I’ve hidden more and more in my
sketch book as the week’s progressed and I am now severely lacking in large
colour pieces and I’ve had a bunch of ideas I’d like to pursue with about 0
days left to do them.

I’ve realised this week that I’m going to struggle slightly balancing work and going to a college so far away from my house with all this coursework on top of it, but I’m sure it’s going to be worth the extra effort, however Tuesdays ‘trip’ to Bristol sure helped me get my extra couple hours sleep. I less sketches than I would have hoped on that trip but I’ve had a lot of fun exploring ideas with some of the photos I took, I’m finding it harder and harder to stick to the black and white guidelines and I can’t wait to start colour however I think I might have to overlap a little as I haven’t got a volume of work done that I’m necessarily happy with. I did manage to get an A1 piece done though so pretty proud of that I suppose.

This
week started off with a fairly dreary trip to weston sea-front, however I think
the wet atmosphere made for a few fairly interesting sketches and it made it an
awful lot easier to keep to the black and white guidelines. I'm really happy
with this project title as at the moment as I feel it’s a rather loose term,
and I can have the freedom I want with it, however I’m not entirely comfortable
with the scale of the work we need to be producing, I supposed art foundation
is a time to be pushing myself though, I guess this is a chance to see just how
much I can push myself.
